Great Irish Famine Memorial Group
The Great Irish Famine Memorial Group organises events that focus on the Memorial at Hyde Park Barracks in Sydney. These presently include an anniversary get-together usually on the last Sunday of August to celebrate the unveiling of the monument, the awarding of a Great Irish Famine prize to History Honours student from Macquarie University and in the future, hopefully sponsoring the education of a young refugee girl.
